Spring Break Entertainment: In Case You Get Bored & Want to Plan for the Future
"It's your life--but only if you make it so. The standards by which you life must be your own standards, your own values, your own convictions in regard to what is right and wrong, what is true and false, what is important and what is trivial."
WHAT IS THIS?
This is a blog about human development and family studies jobs or, more appropriately, jobs for students majoring in human development and family studies or similar family science programs.
The information on this site is general, not university specific. It is important to seek out information about opportunities and training at your specific university. However, this blog is designed to serve as an extra source of information to help you in your human development and family studies career search.
Be sure to check out the "Brave New World of Work," "What Can You Do With a Human Development and Family Studies Major," and "No, Seriously. What Specific Jobs Should I Look For?" posts for an overview of information about finding human development and family studies jobs. Also, be sure to check out the Bare Necessities page for important tips.

WHO AM I ?
I'm a university faculty member in a Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program. I love my field of work, even if some days are harder than others. My personal professional goals include:
Engaging learners with my passion for knowledge to improve the lives of people, families, and communities,
Educating students about real-world applications of family science and career opportunities in the field of family science, and
Empowering students and community members to become lifelong learners and critical consumers of information.
I created this site to help all HDFS students and students in similar fields prepare for work that is focused on people and families. The views on this blog and website are entirely my own, based on my own experiences and opinions. They do not necessarily reflect the opinions of my current or former workplaces. Also, I make no guarantees about the outcomes of taking advice on this website. It is simply my opinion, and everyone has to make their own choices that are best for them.
